Electrolux Introduces Green Ergorapido Vacuums
Since Electrolux launch of instant cleaner Ergorapido in 2004, the product has been a success among consumers. Ergorapido is a slender elegant instant vacuum cleaner for when the consumer doesn’t want to, or has to unfold a full size vacuum cleaner. Electrolux has now developed a Green range version of its popular instant cleaner.

Electrolux Ergorapido
Cleaning has never been easier
Ergorapido solves small vacuum needs instantly, complementing the bigger vacuum cleaner that you might use once per week or every two weeks. Instead of ignoring the bread crumbs waiting for the big weekly cleaning, it is easy to quickly take them away. The practical handheld can reach anywhere, even small corners or the car.
An example of Electrolux work with raising awareness is global project Vac From The Sea, which has the aim to raise awareness about the importance of recycling plastics, to inspire consumers to select products made from recycled material and make politicians and other companies invest in more sustainable product development and manufacturing.
Ergorapido has also set a new aesthetic standard for vacuum cleaners with its sleek elegant look and color collections, which make it a natural part of your home rather than something that needs to be hidden. Its design has been acknowledged in many international competitions and awarded numerous prizes and distinctions. These include the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2008 and IF 2008 Design Award.
Ergorapido Plus Green made of 70% recycled plastics
Ergorapido is now available made of 70% recycled plastics. It is the latest addition to the Green Range vacuum cleaners. Other products in the range are Green versions of UltraOne, UltraSilencer, UltraActive, ErgoSpace and JetMaxx. The Green version of Ergorapido Plus uses an energy efficient charging system that automatically switches off when the battery is full and consumes only 0,3W in standby. Even the packaging is made from recycled materials and after its lifetime, 92% of the Ergorapido Green is recyclable.
“Since our company delivers appliances to millions of homes, we have an opportunity to help consumers make environmentally conscious decisions. We are determined to constantly supplying homes with products with lower environmental impact – making Green range twins of popular products is one step that has proven to be successful,” says Cecilia Nord, Vice President Sustainability Small Appliances.
All Green range vacuum cleaners are energy efficient, made from up to 70% recycled material. The use of recycled plastics saves on average 90% of the water and 80-90% of the energy used when producing virgin plastics. On the canister cleaners, wattage is reduced without significant loss of suction and pickup. Electrolux Green Range canisters save up to 50% energy compared with an average 2000W cleaner, which translates to 0,5 – 1 W less energy consumption per hour of usage. If a consumer uses a green Electrolux cleaner for ten years, he or she would save enough energy to reduce CO2 emissions by 320 kg – which is enough to drive a car 1,918 kilometers.
Counting all products within Electrolux, the Green range accounts for 21% of Electrolux total sales. Consumer demand for giving the home a green upgrade in the form of a green appliance continues to grow.
